The mainline railway train was sometimes diverted via Bishop Auckland local line. They travelled faster than normal trains. The Odeon Cinema on Tenters Street, was close to the Durham / Bishop Auckland line and the effect of these diverted trains caused vibrations and made the projector move slightly. The project or required locking in place with angle irons.
