When they built the Newgate Centre next to the Yorkshire Bank, I knew the planner in charge. I bumped into him in town and he asked me what I thought of the new building. He was amazed when I told him I thought it was awful and that it should never have been built next to such a lovely old building. He of course thought it was wonderful.
